"ATTENTION DUELISTS!"

Yu-Gi-Oh! is best discribed as a game about games. Play Monsters, Spells, and Traps cards to gain the advantage. Players use the cards they’ve collected to construct Decks consisting of 40 to 60 cards. Then, they use their Decks to face off against opponents in a game of strategy, luck, and skill.

Card Types

There are multiple types of cards in Yu-Gi-Oh! this can be split into the cards types found in the main deck and the card types found in the extra deck.

The main deck can consist normal monster, effect monsters, pendulem monsters, ritual monsters, spell cards (6 types) and trap cards (3 types).

The extra deck can consist of fusion monsters, synchro monsters, xyz monsters and link monster.

How to summon monster cards

Monster cards are made up of levels. Level 1 to 4 can be summoned without tributing a monster. Level 5 to 6 require 1 tribute and monsters. Level 7 or high require 2 tributes unless stated in a monsters effect. Yu-Gi-Oh! has grown to where tributing is uncommon due to a wide  range of monster effects, spells and trap cards that can summon monsters easier.

Certain card types that can be found in the extra deck need specific requirments to be met  to summon. For an exsample to summon a fusion monster the player needs have the listed materials on the fusion monster in hand or on the field plus a fusion/polymerization card to activate.

How to Play

The Objective

The goal of the Yu-Gi-Oh! is to reduce your opponent's life points from 8000 to zero or by other alternitive win conditions such as deck out (no more card in the deck to draw).

Building Your Deck

A Yu-Gi-Oh! deck is made up of 40 - 60 cards in the main deck, 15 cards in the extra deck and 15 cards in the side deck.

The 15 cards in the side deck can be swapped out with cards in the main and extra deck between games in a round but reverts back starting card list at the start of a new round.
